You are an expert in your field. You run an organization that is full of talented and dedicated professionals. You recognize who your customers are. You are focused upon a clear and irresistible mission. And you know what products and services your customers need in order to become even more successful.

But you are not an IT expert. Yes, you need IT expertise to accomplish your mission. But unless you are building systems and solutions as your principal deliverables, your mission is probably not about how to efficiently build IT systems. For you and your team, IT is a necessary means of delivery; it is not the product or service that you were meant to deliver.
Unfortunately, too many businesses spend too much time building far too many things that are not part of their core competency. Shouldn’t doctors focus upon their patients and not upon their prescriptions or their payroll? Shouldn’t teachers focus upon their students and not upon their grading systems?

Lobo Strategies is about enabling creators and producers in their mission to create and to produce. Lobo Strategies is about propelling operations teams into dizzying levels of efficiency. And Lobo Strategies is about carrying out your necessary but mundane IT activities thereby unleashing you to accomplish your real mission.

Lobo Strategies was founded by Lorin Olsen – our CEO/CTO. His vision is simple: he wants to help you to crystallize your visions into clear and compelling actions. He has been a computer geek since before Jobs and Woz built their first home-brewed computer. And he has brought his enthusiasm and expertise to numerous industries:

– Government: Mr. Olsen built cave radiation detection and management systems for the National Park Service. As a student, he built management systems so rangers would be free to tend to our shared heritage.

– Telecommunications: Mr.Olsen built software management systems for the complex world of wired and wireless telecommunications. He helped to build the infrastructure that is now the foundation of the Internet. He has been part of some of the largest organizational consolidations and corporate mergers in the telecom industry. He introduced decentralized management systems, parallel processing, and cloud computing to an industry that had built its past upon totally centralized infrastructures.

– Financial Services: Mr. Olsen helped to launch an enterprise architecture practice for the largest tax preparation company in the United States. He helped to revitalize this company’s dormant program planning practice. He also launched an agile computing center of excellence and an industry-leading IT service management practice. Similarly, he introduced IT asset planning, performance management, and capacity forecasting to a major mutual funds management corporation.

– Defense: Mr. Olsen was privileged to assist the United States Marine Corps to consolidate its administrative data centers into a state-of-the-art cloud computing infrastructure.

– Hospitality: When wireless standards emerged in the late nineties, Mr. Olsen became a subject-matter expert in using unlicensed radio spectrum to carry customer queries and activities. He helped to launch a major Midwestern management company that served small-to-medium sized hotel operators. He designed and deployed ITSM monitoring and alerting systems. As a consultant to hospitality companies, Mr. Olsen has designed multi-tenant hosting platforms. He has also built management systems for Internet-of-Things (IoT) service offerings.

Every member of the Lobo Strategies team has an equally diverse background. But each consultant has one key differentiator from other consultants. Lobo Strategies’ consultants pride themselves on building collaborative relationships with every customer. We are not here to tell you what to do. We are here to help you express your needs and to help you release the burden of IT management. To paraphrase another great slogan, “we do IT so you don’t have to.”
